Personal notes on code and craft

Coding Bits

Hey there! It’s been a while. Photo by me on Unsplash.

Some years later and... everything changed. But did it really changed?

It's been a wild ride

Since my last post, a lot has happened. The pandemic ended (thank God), the world sped up in ways both exciting and unsettling, and I went from being a researcher looking for my first industry job to a senior front-end developer at ADP (okay, as a contractor—but still, we take those wins).

Along the way, I worked at several companies, landed my first industry role at Samsung’s Brazil research institute (Sidia), finished my master’s degree, and published two scientific papers. I traveled across every region in Brazil, lived in Manaus, experienced the Amazon rainforest up close, and eventually returned to João Pessoa.

On the personal side? Well… let’s just say life didn’t hold back. I went through a failed marriage (hahahah, we move), did a 32-day Eurotrip across Portugal, France, Germany, and England, and went to festivals like Lollapalooza Brazil (2024 and 2026) and Primavera Sound Brazil. I even got to see Paramore live—which honestly deserves its own paragraph.

Oh—and I adopted two beautiful cat sisters. Possibly my greatest achievement.

Taking the Dust Off

Lately, I’ve been revisiting old projects and thought: why not revive this blog? So here we are.

I gave it a proper refresh—refactored modules, updated dependencies, and gave the design a visual overhaul. It’s no longer that simple layout from before. It’s a bit fancy now, don't you think?

Building a Portfolio: Still a Work in Progress

Some things, however, haven’t changed.

I still haven’t fully built out my portfolio. Life has a way of filling up your time—work, responsibilities, and trying to take care of yourself and the people you love. But I’m working on it.

For now, my projects live on GitHub, and I plan to add more throughout the year—both personal projects and open-source contributions (Yes, this is me publicly committing so I actually follow through).

The Biggest Shift: AI Everywhere

Now, let’s address the elephant in the room.

Our jobs have changed.

Prompts, agents, tokens—AI is moving fast. Sometimes too fast. It can be exciting, but also a little unsettling if I’m being honest. For example, I used AI tools to help refactor this very website. I also used Grammarly and ChatGPT to review this post before publishing it. The way we write, code, and create has fundamentally shifted in just a few years.

And yeah, sometimes that’s scary.

But at the same time, I genuinely believe AI is here to help us—making us faster, more productive, and maybe even better at what we do (As long as we don’t let it do everything for us).

The Future (and This Blog)

Alright, so here’s the plan: I’m bringing this blog back to life.

I want to write more—about tech, about my experiences, about random thoughts that don’t quite fit anywhere else. Tutorials, lessons learned, maybe even a few hot takes here and there. This space is mine, after all. No big promises—but I’ll try to show up more often.

And for now… this revival post will have to do 😄

If you made it this far, thanks for reading. Feel free to reach out anytime to me. Bye bye!
